Title: Generation Partners Program production based incentive called Green Power Switch offered by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).
Program Details:
The Generation Partners Program for those who are a part of the TVA in Alabama is a performance based energy incentive for the following energy/renewable technologies: Small Hydroelectric, Biomass, Landfill Gas, Wind and Photovoltaic. The sectors that qualify are the Federal Government, Nonprofit, Residential, State Government and Commercial. The incentive amount that can be earned is $1,000 plus 12 cents per kilo Watt hour above the retail rate for Photovoltaic and 3 cents per kilo Watt hour above the retail rate for the other renewable resources which are eligible for the program. The performance based incentive will continue for 10 years. The eligible system size is from ½ kilo Watt to 200 kilo Watts.
This program is in place to encourage the installation of renewable generation systems. The TVA will purchase your electricity output at a premium of 12 cents per kWh above the current electricity rate. The power company will issue credits to you or payment for the excess credits which will be issued to you on a monthly or annual basis at the discretion of the power company. In addition you will receive a $1,000 to offset some of your upfront costs. The size of your system needs to output from 500 to 2,000 Watts.
