Texas Needs More Solar Homes Says Study

The Environment Texas Research and Policy Center released a study which says that solar powered homes would be worth the investment, essentially designed to be “net-zero homes” meaning that they would produce all of the energy they consume.

Texas is the nation’s leading greenhouse-gas producing state, and this independent environmentalist group believes that an increase in solar-powered homes would knock Texas down from the top. They estimate that the reduction from solar homes would be the equivalent of the removal of 3 million cars off the road by 2030.

Texas would need to only increase their production of net-zero homes by 10 percent in order to meet what they believe is a very realistic goal.
