The Residential Renewable Energy Personal Tax Credit is a Residential program for those who have energy efficient improvements made with the following: Wind, Fuel Cells, Geothermal Heat Pumps, Other Solar Electric Technologies, Fuel Cells using Renewable Fuels, Solar Water Heat, and Photovoltaic. The program offers from $4k for a wind turbine to $500/.5kW for fuel cells. The following legislation set up this program: 26 USC § 25D, IRS Form 5695 & Instructions: Residential Energy Credits, The Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008 , The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Energy Policy Act of 2005, Tax Relief and Health Care Act of 2006, and Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008.
