Energy Star Rebates Included In Stimulus Bill 2009

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has allocated $300 million to state energy programs for Energy Star rebates on the following appliances:

  • central air conditioners
  • heat pumps (air source and geothermal)
  • boilers
  • furnaces (oil and gas)
  • room air conditioners
  • clothes washers
  • dishwashers
  • refrigerators/freezers
  • water heaters
  • This is great news for anyone who plans on buying any of the above appliances this year. Each state is expected to create a plan on how the money is disbursed by October 15, 2009. That means rebates may be given out later in 2009 or in early 2010. These amounts could range anywhere from $50 to $250.
