The Clean Renewable Energy Bonds (CREBs) Federal Loan Program is a Tribal Government, Municipal Utility, Rural Electric Cooperative, Local Government, and State Government program for those who have energy efficient improvements made with the following: Landfill Gas, Wind, Biomass, Hydroelectric, Geothermal Electric, Municipal Solid Waste, Hydrokinetic Power, Anaerobic Digestion, Tidal Energy, Wave Energy, Ocean Thermal, Solar Thermal Electric, and Photovoltaic. The following legislation set up this program: 26 USC § 54 (Old CREBs), 26 USC § 54A (New CREBs), 26 USC § 54C (New CREBs), IRS Notice 2009-33, Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008 (Div. A, Sec. 107) , American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Div. B, Sec. 1111) , H.R. 2847 (Sec. 301), Notice 2010-35, and IRS Announcement 2010-54.
