California Energy Incentives Overview

California leads the rest of the nation is all types of energy tax incentives. They have been at the forefront for implementing solar incentives and other states have followed their lead.

The recent financial problems have not stopped the programs; they continue to legislate for less pollution and less dependency on non renewable energy sources.

Governor Schwarzenegger in 2004 announced his support for the CA Solar Initiative Act. In 2007, two new rebate and tax incentives were introduced to the pubic for homes and businesses through the CA public utilities commission (CPUC). The new programs have been streamlined and modified compared with the previous programs.

Through the Self Generation Incentive Program in CA they offer incentives for wind energy and fuel cell energy.

CA is one of a dozen states that are extremely supportive of all types of alternative non renewable energy sources. More and following suit all the time as peak oil is more understood and the days of cheap energy are coming to an end.
